CNC CO2 Laser Engraving
Laser engraving is a technology which is computer operated. CNC laser is ideal for both laser engraving and cutting and allows for much finer detail than rotary engraving or milling. Depending on the material used, the laser will either vaporise the surface layer or change the colour of the surface, creating a contrast.
By controlling the output of the laser, its pulse rate and the speed of the movement over the surface, the engraving or cutting can be precisely controlled for each specific material.
The laser can remove the surface to engrave materials such as laminates, acrylic, wood, leather, rubber, glass, and natural material such as slate, marble and granite.
When the laser is unable to remove the surface of materials such as stainless steel and aluminium, a chemical layer is sprayed onto the surface before production. When the laser comes into contact with the chemical on the surface, it is permanently fixed to the material. The excess spray is then rinsed off leaving a permanent black image on the surface.
